title: Wind Essence (0.32)¶
Wind Essence (0.32)¶
The storm has arrived. This update introduces the Zephyr Drakonid — a new wind-and-lightning faction — headlined by the towering Shock Dragon boss of the brand-new Gale Reaches. Ride the winds through floating islands linked by teleport pads, gather Wind Essence during the Multiverse Wind season, hunt the roaming Storm Cache, and forge the crackling new Windy weapon skins.
The Zephyr Drakonid¶
A new faction of sky-borne drakonids now soars across the higher-level rotation, trailing lightning wherever they go.
- Skybound Scouts, Warriors, Knights, and Archers form the backbone of Zephyr Drakonid packs, appearing in escalating mixes as you climb in level.
- Wind Smasher — A heavy melee bruiser that wades into the party with sweeping wind attacks (appears from around level 3).
- Leap Drake — A nimble drake that leaps across the battlefield and unleashes a burst of pulses on landing (appears from around level 2).
- Storm Zapper — A ranged caster that peppers the party with electric bolts and chaining zap bursts (appears from around level 4).
- Storm Gatherer — A stationary storm node that channels lightning; it never dies and instead discharges its charge when damaged (see the Gale Reaches boss below).
- Charged Pillars — Deployable lightning pillars that crackle across an arena.
Gale Reaches & the Shock Dragon Boss¶
A new Gale Reaches region has been added to the Zephyr Drakonid quest rotation, culminating in a multi-stage showdown against the Shock Dragon boss.
- The Shock Dragon protects itself with a Storm Rage immunity — while charged, it cannot be harmed.
- To break its immunity you must pull the dragon close to a Storm Gatherer and damage that Gatherer until it discharges, stripping a Storm Rage charge. Repeat until the dragon is exposed.
- The fight escalates through several health gates, re-shielding each time — expect to break Storm Rage again and again before you land the final blow.
- Defeating the Shock Dragon completes the Gale Reaches and rewards its spoils.
The Shock Dragon wields a devastating storm kit: Shock Breath and Shock Torrent ground-patch breath attacks, Zap Burst / Multi Zap Burst electric volleys, a Charged Burst of triple electric pulses, Lightning Surge, Shock Trails, and Deploy Charged Pillars.
Storm Cache World Event¶
A roaming Storm Cache now appears on Gale Reaches levels and during the Multiverse Wind season.
- Track down and crack open the Storm Cache to claim its rewards — but it fights back, calling in Zephyr Drakonid defenders as you chip away at it.
- When both the Gale Reaches and the Multiverse Wind season are active, up to two Storm Caches can appear.
Multiverse Wind Season & Wind Essence¶
The next multiverse season blows in on the winds of the Zephyr realm.
- Multiverse Wind runs from July 28th (3:00 PM UTC) through October 2nd, 2026.
- Wind Essence is the new seasonal gathering resource. During the event it drops from slain Zephyr Drakonid enemies and can be harvested from new Zephyroak gathering nodes.
- Zephyroak nodes come in three tiers — Young, Mature, and Aged Zephyroak — with higher tiers yielding more essence. They appear in the Gale Reaches and across wind-themed maps during the season.
- New multiverse items — Added support for Cloud Blobs and the Windstruck Tome, joining the Wind-themed multiverse collection.
Wind Multiverse Achievements¶
A full Wind Multiverse achievement track has been added, rewarding Wind Essence at escalating tiers:
- Collect Multiverse Wind Essence — hit essence milestones (100 / 800 / 1,600 / 3,200 / 6,400) for growing rewards.
- Slay the Wind Drakonid — defeat Zephyr Drakonid enemies.
- Complete Wind Drakonid Quests — clear Zephyr Drakonid quests at levels 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17.
- Complete a Daily Achievement — a daily-quest goal that feeds the wind track.
Windy Weapon Skins & Crafting¶
A new line of storm-charged weapon cosmetics can be forged from Zephyr spoils.
| Skin | Rarity | Renown |
|---|---|---|
| Windy Sword / Windy Staff / Windy Bow | Legendary | +25 |
| Elite Windy Sword / Elite Windy Staff / Elite Windy Bow | Artifact | +100 |
- The Windy weapon set is crafted from Wind Scale and Legendary Infusions (via the corresponding Windy Sword/Staff/Bow Parts).
- The Elite tier is upgraded from the base set with additional Wind Scale and Gems.
- New slow-attack staves have been added to the weapon pool for heavier, harder-hitting casters, and firebolt and meditate are now available across all rarities.
Islands & Teleport Pads¶
Maps can now be built from multiple disconnected islands joined only by teleport pads.
- Teleport pads move you between islands within the same map — step onto a pad and you are whisked to its linked destination.
- Launch pads fling you across gaps for fast, dramatic traversal.
- The first Wind-themed maps use these to create sprawling sky-island layouts.
Expanded Blob Pets¶
Following the passing Enjin Treasury Proposal, 15 additional Blob pets have shipped and are now available in-game as equippable cosmetic skins. Holders can equip and show them off alongside Etherscape's existing Blob lineup.
Other Changes & Quality of Life¶
- Sacred Legendary skills are now level 12 and Ascended Legendary skills are now level 14, making these top-tier abilities noticeably stronger.
- Added support for the Kepithor Quest system.
- Humanoid rig — Improved several animations on the humanoid character rig.
- The daily merchant now stocks wind-themed items during the Zephyr / Multiverse Wind season.
- Loot tuning pass — several enemies had their drop quantities retuned into a healthier band (e.g. Human Boss loot raised, Rift Guardian and Alpha Demon brought down), and the new air enemies were tuned in-band.
