Skins¶
Skins are tokens which can be used to customize the look of your character in game. Their purpose is to allow players to create their own unique style to show off during gameplay. However, skins also provide a bonus called "Renown" for players that collect them. Renown will unlock special perks allowing you to make your character even more epic. Most skins are limited in supply and can only be acquired during limited time events or through purchase on NFT.io.
Equipping Skins¶
To equip skins, expand your inventory fully and you will see your skin slots on the far left. You have a slot for a weapon skin and a slot for an armor skin. Note that any weapon can be equipped as a weapon skin and any class unlock can be equipped as an armor skin. However, the most epic looking skins are standalone tokens that can be collected.
Renown¶
Each skin rewards a certain amount of "Renown" based on its rarity. A fairly common skin might provide +10 Renown while a highly rare skin could provide +100 renown. Renown provides bonuses in game which are thematically aligned with being a highly respected member of the game world. Below are a list of current bonuses that are unlocked by holding renown...
Reduced Purchase Cost
The more renown that you hold the larger a discount the merchant will provide you. This discount hits a max at 30%
Increased Sell Value
The more renown that you hold the more gold you will get for selling items. This increase hits a max at 30%
Daily Purchases
The merchant has special items which can be purchased once per day. Some of the items will required your account to have enough renown to purchase them. For example, event specific quest keys or resources could be for sale daily.
More utility will be added for renown over time.
