# Skins

## Overview

Skins are tokens which can be used to customize the look of your character in game. Their purpose is to allow players to create their own unique style to show off during gameplay. However, skins also provide a bonus called "Renown" for players that collect them. Renown will unlock special perks allowing you to make your character even more epic. Most skins are limited in supply and can only be acquired during limited time events or through purchase on NFT.io.

## Equipping Skins

To equip skins, expand your inventory fully and you will see your skin slots on the far left. You have a slot for a weapon skin and a slot for an armor skin. Note that any weapon can be equipped as a weapon skin and any class unlock can be equipped as an armor skin. However, the most epic looking skins are standalone tokens that can be collected.

## Renown

Each skin rewards a certain amount of "Renown" based on its rarity. A fairly common skin might provide +10 Renown while a highly rare skin could provide +100 renown. Renown provides bonuses in game which are thematically aligned with being a highly respected member of the game world Below are a list of current bonuses that are unlocked by holding renown...

### Glacial Weapons

Glacial Weapons are a limited time skin that can be acquired during the 2024 winter event with a limited supply of 50 for each weapon type. In order to craft a Glacial Weapon skin, you need to first purchase the Frozen Parts on NFT.io. These can then be crafted into a Frozen Weapon skin which can then be upgraded to a Glacial Weapon skin.

The Spirit weapon collections is designed to show your leveling expertise. Players who are able to generate large amounts of spirit shards will be the only ones capable of crafting these amazing skins.

### Nightmare Weapons

The nightmare weapons are earned through achieving great feats in the Arena. They require Proof of Glory in order to craft them which can only be obtained through arena rewards.
