Input Types

The following input types are supported for playing Etherscape:

Mouse and Keyboard

This is the most prominent control scheme that the game was originally designed for. By default, the following mappings are used...

Input
Mapping

Movement

WASD keys

Attack Direction

Mouse Cursor

Attack / Interact

Left Mouse Button

Abilities

Number 1-5 keys

Dash

Space Bar

Sprint

Left Shift

Town Portal

R

Use Potion

Q

In the options you can enable "Fast Action Mode". When you do this, it will automatically case abilities at the location of the cursor instead of waiting for an additional click.

Gamepad Controller

Gamepad support is added with release 0.20.5.1. Below are the default key mappings...

Input
Mapping

Movement

Left Stick

Attack + Attack Direction

Right Stick

Interact

South Button (A on Xbox, X on PS)

Back

East Button (B on Xbox, Circle on PS)

Abilities

Bumpers + Triggers +

North Button (Y on Xbox, Triangle on PS)

Dash

West button (X on Xbox, Square on PS)

Sprint

Left Stick Pressed

Town Portal

D-pad Right

Use Potion

D-pad Up

Gamepad support is still new and we will iterate on it with feedback from the community to make it as effective as possible

When casting abilities you can use your attack stick to adjust their cast location on the screen. If you enable "Fast Action Mode" then while the ability button is held down you can select the location and when the button is released the ability will cast at that location.

Touch

Touch controls are not yet added, but we will add them if / when we ship on Android. In general, they will be similar to the gameplay controls using on screen joysticks and buttons.
