Mastery System

The mastery system allows for players to have persistent progression across all of their characters that is designed for horizontal expansion. When players use a skill, they will have a chance to gain XP in that relevant skill. That XP will then unlock permanent bonuses for all characters on their account. Each mastery "track" is different with regards to how it gains XP and what benefit it unlocks.
As an example, by mining ore nodes you will gain mining mastery. The higher the power of the ore node, the more XP you will gain by mining it. Each time you level up your mining master you will get a permanent +1 to your mining power.
The following master tracks have been implemented or are coming soon.
Mining

Woodcutting

Cut down trees in order to increase you woodcutting power.
Herbalism

Harvest herbs in order to increase you herbalism power. (coming soon)
Lock Picking

Unlock chests in order to increase your lock picking power. (coming soon)
Tinkering
Crafting
Craft tools that are needed for gathering valuable resources. (coming soon)
Salvage

Salvage items to increase your salvage power which will result in a chance at more and better resources. (coming soon)
The mastery system is also designed to have on chain interaction. In the future, players will be able to mint a "Mastery Elixir" onto the chain. Each Elixir will represent a specific master track and a specific amount of XP. When the elixir is minted, that player will lose that XP from their own account, and it will instead be represented on chain where it can be bought and sold. This will enabled players to trade their mastery experience allowing them to specialize in a particular area.
Note that the minting portion of the mastery system is not fully designed as is subject to be changed or removed.
